The following scholarships are currently available in the GJHS Guidance Office:
1. Edgar Snyder & Associates $2500 essay contest. More information also at www.edgarsnyder.com.
2. Gannon University Scholars of Excellence in Engineering and Computer Science. Call 814-871-5302. Application to Gannon University is required. (Please see Mr. Lucas prior to applying to Gannon, he is alumni and can sign your application, thus waiving the application fee)
3. Johnstown Housing Authority’s Annual Stephen J. Bollinger Memorial Scholarship for $7000 and two more scholarships for $5000 each for Public Housing residents. See your Guidance Counselor for more information.

United States Military Academy offers a Summer Leaders Seminar. Strong PSAT scores and the top fifth in your class are requirements to attend.
The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown will offer two free Financial Aid workshops on Tuesday, January 12 and Tuesday, February 16 from 6:30-8:30 at Pitt’s Living Learning Center. They will also offer two FAFSA Completion Days to assist families in completing the FAFSA online. Reservations for this workshop are required at 814-269-7045.
Selective Service information is available from Mr. Chick, and the Trojan College Access Center. Men reaching their 18th birthday must register. College Financial Aid may be withheld for failure to register. Go to www.sss.gov to register online.
