Imagine America is offering a $1000.00 dollar scholarship for seniors who plan on attending a participating career college. If interested, contact Mr. Mulvehill in the guidance office or apply on line at www.Imagine-America.org.

Commencement Participation
Seniors - During their senior year, students must pass all courses taken with a final percentage of not less than 60%.
Students scoring less than 60% on any course during their senior year WILL NOT be eligible for participation in the commencement ceremony.

Senior Final Transcripts
Seniors – You must drop off a stamped, addressed envelope at the guidance office for the College/University you are attending in the Fall so your final transcript can be sent.
YOUR TRANSCRIPT WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY SENT. YOU MUST PROVIDE AN ADDRESSED ENVELOPE WITH POSTAGE FOR THE TRANSCRIPT TO BE MAILED.

Summer Work
Summer work experience – Earn $7.50/Hour. 35 Hours a week. No evenings, weekends or holidays. Certain eligibility requirements apply. See your guidance counselor to sign up for the interview on May 11, 2010 and to get the list of required documentation.
College Visits
A free college resource for setting up college visits, plus search for schools and majors, and also get free admissions advice. Go to www.goseecampus.com. This is perfect if you are a Junior starting the school search process.
Penn Highlands Representative & Scholarship
1. A representative from Penn Highlands Community College will be in the Guidance Office on May 3rd from 12:30 to 2:30. This special time will allow seniors to speak to an admissions counselor and by presenting their high school transcript be accepted on the spot. Also the application fee will be waived on this day.
2. G H Miller Scholarship registration forms are available from Mr. Chick. This scholarship is based on a drawing from all applicants. Students must be accepted as a full time college student to receive the scholarship.

Big "J" Scholarships
The Big “J” Club will be offering three scholarships to senior this year. Any senior who participated in any Big J Activity during the current school year, has a 2.0 or better g.p.a. and who plans to attend a post secondary school immediately after high school is eligible.
A brief essay is part of the application process. Applications are available from any guidance counselor. Completed applications must be returned to Mr. Chick guidance office by May 16th. Winners will be determined by drawing.

Job Fair and Fair Queen
The annual Cambria County Job Fair will be held on May 4, 2010, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the Pasquerilla Conference Center. This is for senior and adults entering the workforce looking for a job. Dress appropriately and bring a resume if you plan to attend.
Applications for Fair Queen of the Cambria County Fair are available from Mr. Chick. Age requirements are 16-20 years of age as of June 1, 2010.

1. The Johnstown Quota Club is offering a scholarship for a hearing impaired student(s) or a student(s) who is planning to go into a field of study that aids the hearing impaired. See Mr. Chick for application guidelines. Deadline is May 13,2010.
2. Wendy’s High School Heisman Award for the class of 2011. This athletic scholarship can be completed at www.wendysheisman.com. Five applications from JHS will put us in the running for a $500 donation. The first 41,000 applications nationwide receive a Wendy’s gift card of between $5 and $50.
3. Students wanting more information for the West Point Military Academy or the Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) are available at goarmy.com/officer. Additional application materials and information is from Mr. Chick.
